Taxes in Nassau County are unnecessarily costly and complicated—and it’s the residents who are paying for it. Because of sky-high property taxes on top of state and federal income taxes, many Nassau County residents pay disproportionately high percentages of their income in taxes every year.
In Todd’s career in public service, including as a Senator, Todd has voted against 175 proposed tax increases. As Senator, Todd will continue to provide much-needed tax breaks to Long Island homeowners, veterans, and others who are struggling to pay their bills because of high taxes, while reigning in out-of-control government spending.
Todd’s tax reform agenda includes:
- A tax credit for homeowners who pay a large percentage of their income on property tax
- Maintaining the property tax cap
- Tax breaks for small businesses to help them grow
